Dear fire fighters and their families,
While on vacation from Australia, we have stayed with friends who have
lived in
many areas of Buffalo over the last 57 years.
After attending the Erie County Fair on Friday and seeing such an impressive
turnout of fire fighters and equipment at the parade, I felt compelled to write
to say "Thanks".
We stood at the barrier and my friends announced with pride, many of the station
names that protected their homes over the years.
It was very emotional as we watched your young children ride in the trucks,
waving with excitement, we waved back with Thanks and support. I heard
someone in the crowd say that the sirens and horns were not to be used......
But Thank God you did anyway. What a great way to rally the troops and get
young boys and girls excited about being a fire fighter when they grow up. It
also was a great reminder for us adults, of the brave and dangerous job of fire
fighting and other duties called on your members.
I have worked with our local volenteer fire fighters and know of the time and
effort members and their families endure.
Keep on letting the community know that you are there for them, Keep on ringing
the bells and sirens !!!!
Protect with Pride...The importance of a fire fighter.
